DIY FPV Goggles Collection

fpv goggles with hdmi inputWith the development of technology, the drone accessories niche develops at such a speed that it is pretty hard to keep up with the latest most wanted" drone gadgets. The Dominator V3 is the newest FPV video goggle in the Dominator series from Fat Shark These video goggles allow for first-person viewing (FPV) of the video downlink from the wireless transmitter on your RC aircraft for a truly immersive flying experience.

Thirdly, I wouldn't buy this as your only pair of FPV goggles - its too big and bulky to take with you everywhere you go. However, if you already have a pair of FPV goggles and your looking to buy another pair then seriously consider the Oculus Rift DK1 - it will give you the best FPV flying experience of your life.

When reading through cheap fpv goggles goggle reviews, pretty much anything with a nice camera on it that uses a tablet for a screen (like the DJI phantom line) will be fairly laid back and easy fpv setup while anything with a thin carbon fiber body and racing plastered on it will be agile for an fpv setup.

You can actually get head trackers for some FPV goggles or stand alone head trackers that use gyros to detect your head movement and transmit that back to the video camera onboard your aircraft so if you look down & right with the goggle on, the camera automatically pans down and right.

This means that if you move your head left, the FPV camera will also move left (pretty cool right?) This is usually down to personal preference as some people like this feature (the FPV becomes more immersive) but others dislike this feature (they find it easier to control the drone without head tracking.) I personally prefer it and therefore recommend that you look for head tracking in your goggles.
